It's tempting to say what a snake-bit year this was, a year when American troops were lost abroad, a year of economic struggle and cynical politics.

But it was also a year when troops came home, and people started new jobs. Steve Inskeep says it's to soon to judge 2011.

Some Ford Workers Skeptical Of Proposed Contract

Advocates Urge Easier Visa Policies To Boost Startups

Government Sector Isn't Adding New Jobs

With Just 39,000 New Jobs In Nov., Jobless Rate Rises

The government's monthly jobs report -- out Friday morning -- shows the economy added 39,000 jobs last month.

That wasn't enough to stop the unemployment rate from rising in November to 9.8 percent.
