Greetings Neighborhood Associations and Neighborhood Advocates,
The City of Austin Transportation Department is sponsoring two public meetings in an interactive mini-design workshop format.
The purpose of the meetings is to get input from you about improvements you wish to see along the North Lamar Blvd. and Burnet Rd. corridors.
The study of these corridors was approved by voters in the 2010 Mobility Bond Referendum.
The meetings are as follows: Lamar Blvd.
Corridor (US Hwy 183 to N. IH-35) Tuesday, September 20, 2011 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The federal government underwrites affordable housing in part by providing tax credits to developers who build affordable housing. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs parcels out these tax credits in Texas. A lot rides on TDHCA's decisions and competition for the tax credits is fierce.

City staff presented the results of the Morrow Street traffic analysis and neighborhood viewpoints on this issue to the City Council Comprehensive Planning & Transportation Committee (CPTC), on May 3rd, 2010.
(The traffic analysis evaluated the possible removal of the barrier that currently restricts traffic from moving westbound on Morrow across Lamar, and from turning left onto southbound Lamar.
For more background information, see the City website.)

Those of you who actually believed the nonsense about the live music task force regulations being the result of condo dwellers who didn't like loud music ought to think long and hard about the fact that the first apparent casualty of the ordinance isn't downtown; it's in the area covered by Jack's neighborhood associations, just like I told you.
