A property owner has proposedbuilding a slender, 28-story mixed office/retail/hotel building at the corner of Congress & 8th, on the site of the Hickory Street Bar & Grill and the Bosche-Hogg building.

  The building will retain the facade of the Bosch-Hogg building.

Just returned from the Crestview Station Zoning hearing in front of the Planning Commission. D.R. Horton Homes had requested several changes to the zoning for their part of the Crestview Station development, which abuts Morrow and the RR tracks.

The results were not all that we asked for, but partially. The Planning Commission sends their recommendation from tonight's hearing to the city Council, where the final decision is made.

So, we need to do better at the City Council meeting Nov 10th.

The traffic calming meeting will be Monday Sept 26, 6 p.m., in the school library at St Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Road.

The purpose of the meeting is
1) to review the city's plans for the remaining traffic calming devices to be installed
2) to ensure that the plan is in compliance with the existing plan approved by the neighborhood
3) to come to agreement with the city on the level of commitment the neighborhood can provide in maintaining the landscaped medians, islands, or traffic circles.

Please come to the 7pm meeting in Wozniak Hall of the St. Louis Church at Morrow and Burnet Rd. to participate in the annual elections of the volunteer staff of the CNA executive committee.

The four place positions and the positions for president and treasurer will be accepting nominations. Anyone can be nominated from the floor, as long as they are a member of the neighborhood association (or become a member).

Candidates for president must have served a prior term on the executive committee. The place positions are 1-year terms, while the president and treasurer terms are 2-year.
