City of AustinThe effort to redesign the City of Austin website has hit a significant milestone, and the team is now looking to the public for some feedback on proposed designs.

Three home page concepts are available for review:

It feels a little hard to believe, but we’re marking another milestone on the site today: 9,000 posts in a little over 4 years.

Many, many, many thanks to my fellow contributors who have written thousands of thoughtful posts.

And many, many, many thanks to all of you who read and comment everyday.

Here’s to the next 9000!

According to the Austonian, after 640 days of construction, tonight The Austonian will become the tallest structure in Austin at 571 feet.

The next milestone comes in December when The Austonian's glass crown is installed. The 56-story building will reach 683 feet at that point making it the tallest residential building in the western United States.

Amazingly -- for those who have looked up at the tower recently -- the building still has 112 feet to go. The picture below shows the pouring of the 51st floor.

Today, AustinTowers.net passed a major milestone with our 100,000th visit! Thank you to everyone who has visited the site and helped us get to this great milestone.
