Wells Fargo Provides Grant to University of Texas for Clean Ener...

As part of its national environmental grant program, Wells Fargo today announced that it has provided a $125,000 grant to the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin that will fund a new Clean Energy track within the 2012 Global Venture Labs Investment Competition (GVLIC).

Poll: Americans Believe U.S. Headed in Wrong Direction on Energy

A poll released today by The University of Texas at Austin found less than 14 percent of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction on energy.

Of more than 3,400 consumers surveyed, 84 percent were worried about U.S. consumption of oil from foreign sources and 76 percent about a lack of progress in developing better ways to use energy efficiently and develop renewable sources.

The United States is expected to hit its debt ceiling on or near Aug. 2 and no deal is in place from Congress to raise the debt ceiling.

Economics experts in and out of government have said that if we reach Aug. 2 without having passed legislation to raise the debt ceiling, the U.S. will at worst default on its $1.3 trillion debt and likely will have to stop funding government expenditures.
