While the Democrats continue their convention in Denver, details are starting to leak out about John McCain’s anticipated announcement of his Vice-Presidential running mate.

For example, The Politico reports that the McCain Campaign will move quickly to shift the focus from Obama and the Democrats:

1. Mike Huckabee supporters were scheduled to meet with John McCain this past Wednesday. On their agenda?

Convince McCain NOT to pick Mitt Romney for Veep! In addition to the meeting with 40 Huckabee supporters, McCain was also scheduled to meet with 10 social conservative activists and religious leaders around Michigan, reports the Detroit News.

Yesterday Tim Pawlenty appeared on Fox News:

1. McCain on Tim Pawlenty: “He’s a great, fine person. He was reelected in one of the toughest reelection years in the history of the Republican Party.

He comes from — his father, I’m pretty sure, drove a truck. He’s a great success story. He’s been able to work across the aisle in Minnesota with the Democrats.”

 Could T-Paw make a good Veep… even without “the designs?”

When I first caught the buzz about Bobby Jindal, I thought it was nothing more than a pipe dream. “Who is this guy anyway?” I wondered.

“And who is he to really compete with the likes of Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee for the #2 spot?” I was reading the India Times and thought it just sounded like more of the same “Wouldn’t it be COOL if we had a black president or a woman president?” chatter.
