If you need any more proof that our campaign finance laws are a joke, take this story:

The Federal Election Commission is unlikely to conduct a potentially embarrassing audit of how Barack Obama raised and spent his presidential campaign’s record-shattering windfall, despite allegations of questionable donations and accounting that had the McCain campaign crying foul.

And not only that, Martin Eisenstadt does it in the blogosphere.

How very Smear 2.0 of him…

As you know, I was one of the foreign policy advisers on the McCain campaign who worked with Randy Scheunemann to help prep Sarah on her debate with Joe Biden.

Did we outright give her a geography quiz when we started the prep?

Palin Fights Back Against Smears

Donklephant  Sat, 11/08/2008 - 10:00am

As many of you know, I was a pretty strong critic of Sarah Palin during the campaign given my opinion of her unreadiness for the VP spot, but now I find myself defending the veracity of her intellect.

All I can say is that the pursuit of truth and fairness can sometimes make strange bedfellows.

The First 21st Century Election

Donklephant  Tue, 11/04/2008 - 4:30am

And that’s one of the biggest problems with the McCain campaign. Because he’s a 20th Century candidate trying to run a 21st Century campaign and he just doesn’t know how to do it.

NBC has more…

Elections will never be the same after this.

Joe The Plumber Questions Obama’s Loyalty To The US?

Donklephant  Mon, 11/03/2008 - 4:00am

I knew this guy wasn’t a good surrogate for the McCain campaign from nearly the first moment he started opening his mouth and voicing his real opinions, but I didn’t realize just how uninformed he was until I saw the following clip.

Just watch Fox News’ Neil Cavuto try to change the subject…

McCain Camp Pushes Rashid Khalidi & J******h Wr****t

Donklephant  Thu, 10/30/2008 - 6:09pm

The McCain campaign’s Michael Goldfarb goes on CNN and embarrasses himself by claiming Obama hangs around with anti-Semites.

But when Rick Sanchez pushes him to name somebody else besides Khalidi, Goldfarb has to bite his tongue.

Watch…

Sarah The Scapegoat

Donklephant  Thu, 10/30/2008 - 4:38pm

According to Roger Simon, John McCain’s aides and allies are ready to blame what appears to be an impending election loss on Sarah Palin:

John McCain’s campaign is looking for a scapegoat.

It is looking for someone to blame if McCain loses on Tuesday.

And it has decided on Sarah Palin.

In recent days, a McCain “adviser” told Dana Bash of CNN: “She is a diva.

She takes no advice from anyone.”
