130M+ Voted Yesterday. Or Did They?

Donklephant  Wed, 11/05/2008 - 2:42pm

We’ve been told today that yesterday wasn’t just a win for Obama…it was a win for American democracy.

People were finally energized to come out to the polls and both candidates broke records for the amount of votes they received.

However…where are the totals proving this?

Barack Obama Wins Historic Election

NPR Programs: Morning Edition  Wed, 11/05/2008 - 5:00am

Barack Obama is promising supporters that "change has come." After his historic election as the nation's first black president, Obama promised to be a president for all Americans — including those who voted against him.

In Arizona, McCain told disappointed supporters, "The American people have spoken, and spoken clearly."

McCain Wins South Dakota

NBC just called it.

Again, the landslide scenario isn’t happening…yet.

Still…it…is…over.

Hey Barack, You’re Number 44

Donklephant  Tue, 11/04/2008 - 8:51pm

Since the nets called Ohio for Obama, he’s assured a win tonight.

Yeah, I know nobody has called it yet, but the electoral road ahead is impossible for McCain.

There’s just no realistic path for him anymore.

So congratulations Mr. President. You’re in for one hell of a ride.

Obama Wins Ohio

CBS radio just called it.

The path to 270 for McCain is pretty much done.

20 electoral votes for Obama.

Moving on…

McCain Wins Alabama and Georgia

Donklephant  Tue, 11/04/2008 - 7:39pm

No surprises here, although Georgia was seen as a possible landslide indicator for Obama.

Georgia has 15 electoral votes.

Alabama has 9.

McCain Wins South Carolina

Donklephant  Tue, 11/04/2008 - 6:48pm

MSNBC just called it, but I’m linking to CNN.

The state has 8 electoral votes.
