Rasmussen: Obama Up By 5

Donklephant  Tue, 10/28/2008 - 9:26am

Obama - 51%
McCain - 46%

McCain gains one as we’re just a week away from the biggest game in town.

Rasmussen talks battlegrounds and electoral projections…

Battleground state polls released yesterday showed Obama leading in Colorado, Florida, Ohio, and Virginia.

With these latest results, Rasmussen Reports has moved Florida from “Toss-Up” to “Leans Democratic.”

Obama - 50%
McCain - 45%

No change today, as we’re only one day away from the final debate.

But Rasmussen shows…the electoral outlook is bleak for McCain…

Currently, Obama has the edge in every state won by John Kerry four years ago.

However, of the states won by George Bush, McCain is trailing in four and five others are considered a toss-up.

Rasmussen: Obama Up By 6

Donklephant  Sun, 10/12/2008 - 11:23am

Obama - 51%
McCain - 45%

Obama loses 1 today, and McCain holds steady for the past five days.

Why’s Obama leading?

Two words: women, independents…

Obama leads by fourteen percentage points among women while McCain leads by two among men.

Both men lead by an 86% to 12% margin among members of their own party while Obama holds an eight point advantage among unaffiliated voters.

Both candidates gain 1 from yesterday, but the 3 points spread is exactly the same.

This is significant for McCain because it represents the first time that he’s hit the 50% mark.

No change from yesterday.

Exactly the same.

Personally, I think the longer that McCain can keep this lead the better. Because it suggest that the Palin pick was sage and gives him the leg up going into the debates.

Looks like McCain may have received another bounce, as we have 3 and 5 points swings in the numbers.

Some slight movement from McCain today, but nothing to suggest the massive 10 point lead in likely voters that the USA Today/Gallup poll suggested.

Bigger movement today in the numbers as the RNC finishes and the McCain/Palin bounce apparently begins in earnest.

Also news today, Palin is polling better than McCain and Obama…

Both Obama and McCain are now viewed favorably by 57% of the nation’s voters.

Not much change since yesterday, with Obama/Biden dropping one in the “with leaners” numbers, but still maintaining a significant lead over McCain/Palin.
