The family that controls the Empire State Building wants to include the art deco landmark in a new publicly traded real estate company, according to The New York Times.

If so, the public would be able to be shares.

President Obama flies to the West African country of Ghana on Friday. This will be his first trip as president to sub-Saharan Africa.

The 24-hour visit is the only stop in Africa and is being heralded as a landmark for Ghana, which is a trusted ally of Washington.
