Highball

Planning Ahead, Austin  Thu, 06/16/2011 - 4:01pm

The best place in town to host an adult birthday party is Highball, hands down.

Any 21+ place pairing karaoke, bowling and on some nights, a dance floor is hard to beat, Highball takes the fun factor one step further through its hip, vintage décor, laidback atmosphere, and plethora of reasonably priced drink options.

I actually held my own birthday party here this year, but (thankfully) there are no pictures to mark that occasion.

Sustainable Neighborhoods Progress

Crestview Neighborhood Association  Mon, 07/12/2010 - 9:50am

Burnet and N Lamar are the public face of our North Central Austin neighborhoods. They have their gritty charm, but for the most part they are ugly and unsafe for pedestrians and children.

They encourage policymakers and developers to make the kinds of comments we heard during the VMU process: "Anything is better than what you have now." That's not true.

We have to fight that kind of thinking by taking better care of our streets.
