Balcones Resources supported victims of the recent Bastrop wildfires by hosting a benefit in their honor.

Monday, Oct. 24, All-day event, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. "Go Native U" goes wild with a new series focusing on the natural history of Central Texas wildlife and plants.

What:  A remembrance ceremony and tree planting will be held at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at The University of Texas at Austin to honor firefighters who died fighting Texas wildfires in 2011.

Free center admission applies that morning.

A dedication ceremony of the Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum will be held Saturday, May 30 by the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center of The University of Texas at Austin.

Little rain last fall means Texas bluebonnets and other early spring wildflowers will not be as impressive as last year’s display, according to The University of Texas at Austin’s Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Join us for family fun Friday evenings this Spring. Nature Nights are fun explorations of plants, animals, and the ecology of Central Texas.

Each evening features interactive presentations, hikes with experts in their fields, and nature crafting for kids of all ages.

Nature Nights are supported through volunteer efforts by Capital Area Master Naturalist volunteers and programs.
