1. Virginia Governor Tim Kaine told the Washington Post that he’s had “very serious conversations with Obama” regarding the vice presidency.

On Fox News Sunday, The Weekly Standard’s William Kristol said he thinks Obama’s already decided on Kaine, adding that “there will be a secret meeting” with him on Tuesday.

Obama Begins VP Hunt In Earnest

On the very top of the list at this point? Jim Webb, Ted Strickland, Kathleen Sebelius, Claire McCaskill.

All solid, moderate democrats from swing states.

But you want to know who’d be the boldest pick?

Chuck Hagel. That would literally shatter the partisan divide in one fell swoop. The only issue there is that Hagel would have to promise to govern in a bi-partisan, left-leaning fashion if anything ever happened to Obama.

And how likely would that be?
