Background…

Crestview and Brentwood neighborhoods have joined forces asking the City of Austin to consider reclassifying Justin Lane from an minor arterial to a neighborhood collector. See our joint request.

Many residents along Justin Lane have complained about traffic, truck traffic, down shifting to slow down, motor cycle racing, near misses with pedestrians trying to cross Justin Lane, and motorists running stop signs.

SUBJECT: Staff Requests Postponement of Zoning Items 109, 110 and 111

At the last Crestview neighborhood association meeting, we heard from Sonya Lopez, pricipal planner for the Transit Oriented Development (TOD).

She presented TOD information specific to the Crestview neighborhood and listened to and documented concerns from Crestview residents about TOD.

After holding many meetings to review the City information, review the Crestview Neighborhood Plan, meet with concerned residents, walk/review properties, and question the city, the steering committee voted to maintain and honor the negotiations made during the neighborhood planning between the city and residents of the Crestview Neighborhood.

Thus the VMU overlay recommendation does not include any property along Burnet Road between Justin Lane & Anderson and any property along Lamar between Banyon and Anderson.
