Democrats have a good chance to pick up the seat held by Republican Sen. Jim Bunning, who's retiring. Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway, a Democrat, is running against Republican Rand Paul.

Conway's recent attack ad highlights Paul's involvement in a college prank at Baylor University some 25 years ago.

As Americans, we’re accustomed to a certain standard of living.

Nothing lavish, mind you. Most of us don’t have big, fancy houses or expensive cars. Most of us don’t have investment portfolios bursting at the seams.

But we do have families and we do have responsibilities, and given that we pay our fair share into the system, we expect a safety net when circumstances out of our control force us into the ranks of the unemployed.

The GOP is finally able to get rid of one of their more embarrassing Senators.

The writing on the wall may have been the news reported Sunday by the Louisville Courier-Journal that more than 100 former Bunning donors have signed up with Secretary of State Trey Grayson, a fellow Republican who has formed an exploratory committee.

Listen, I thought they should have done a revote in Minnesota, and I said as much on this blog. But nearly every single court decision went Al Franken’s way, and that’s just how it went down.

Norm Coleman lost.

And when I watch the following inanity, I genuinely wonder if the folks at Fox News simply don’t care anymore about being anything but a mouthpiece for the RNC.
