Israelis Propose Laws To Punish Terrorists' Families

Following last week's bulldozer rampage in Jerusalem, some Israeli politicians want to pass laws that penalize families of people who launch attacks.

While some Jewish lawmakers say it's necessary for Israel to toughen laws, critics say the proposals are about revenge.

Israel Celebrates 60 Years of Statehood

Israel is commemorating the 60th anniversary of its creation according to the Hebrew calendar. In 1948, there were 650,000 people when the Jewish state was declared, and now there are more than 7 million Israelis.

Israelis, Government Divided on Dealing with Hamas

Gaza Neighborhood Caught in Crossfire of Attacks

A recent Israeli assault on Gaza left 120 Palestinians dead, including dozens of civilians. Israeli officials say more than 150,000 Israelis live under the threat of rocket fire from Gaza, which the incursion was meant to suppress.

Israelis, Palestinians Doubt Peace Talks
