Two inmates at Exeter prison in England nearly managed to tunnel their way to freedom. They hacked through a 4-foot-thick wall and disguised the hole with fake bricks made from papier-mache.

The plot unraveled when a guard spotted dust on the ground.

Soldiers In Yemen Fire At Protesting Students

For weeks, people in Yemen have been protesting against the long rule of President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas at students camped at a university in the capital Tuesday.

That confrontation came after thousands of inmates rioted at a nearby prison and called for the president to step down.

AP - More than seven years ago, a suspected Afghan militant was brought to a dimly lit CIA compound northeast of the airport in Kabul.

The CIA called it the Salt Pit. Inmates knew it as the dark prison. Inside a chilly cell, the man was shackled and left half-naked.

He was found dead, exposed to the cold, in the early hours of Nov. 20, 2002.



 

County Prison Switching To Smaller Bars Of Soap

The prison warden in Blair County, Pa., says the switch to smaller bar sizes is to cut down on waste. Inmates have been carving their soap into figurines.

The switch may deny inmates an artistic escape but could save the county several thousand dollars.

From the same IP address, a search for “weed protest Austin Texas” followed a few days later by the query “names of inmates in Austin”.

Was there a protest or rally or march or some sort of event recently that I didn’t know about? And did it lead to any arrests?

Anyone know?
