Can’t wait one more week to hear the hotly anticipated new Spoon album “Transference”? Fortunately, NPR has your back, as they’re streaming the album in its entirety online in the week leading up to its release Tuesday, Jan. 19.

NPR and South by Southwest also announced today that the band will headline Stubb’s on the opening night of SXSW (March 17).

Hard-living, hard-playing Austin soul star Black Joe Lewis has plenty in common with obvious inspiration James Brown — the boisterous horn section, the sexual swagger, the on-stage self-confidence and, perhaps most importantly, the famously tireless work ethic.

Schooool’s…Out! For! Summer!!! Well, except for finals.

Still, a monumental way to kick off this season is with summer sangria and a DJ set at San Jose, followed by the Memphis-rockers, Lucero, and Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears (pictured) show at Emo’s.

They play the outside stage tonight starting at 10pm. Lucero has some new stuff, too, from their new Rebels, Rogues, & Sworn Brothers, and they will be also be celebrating their new “major label” debut.
