As the fall semester approaches, some UT graduate students and Brackenridge residents are ramping up efforts to make their voices heard as a New York design firm considers possible development of the Brackenridge Tract.

The Brackenridge Apartments Tenant Advisory Board met last week with leaders of the Graduate Student Assembly to discuss how the two organizations can work together to address student concerns while the development firm, Cooper, Robertson & Partners, crafts two master plans for the best uses of the tract.

This fall, a team of 15 graduate students and three professors from the School of Architecture will design green space in an urban setting between Tsinghua University and the Forbidden City in central Beijing.

"A green space is similar to a park but is also a way to provide a connection with pedestrians and nature, which is a long tradition in China," said Fritz Steiner, dean of the school of architecture.

Colin Kubarych started the bowling competition with a strike, putting his team of chemistry graduate students in the lead.
