Mozilla’s financials: 2007 strong; Portfolio takes 2008 lumps

Mozilla’s 2007 annual report reveals a foundation that’s well funded–primarily by a Google search deal–and can weather a downturn.

Nevertheless, 2008 is going to be a different story as Mozilla’s portfolio has taken some big hits. In 2007, Mozilla had revenue of $75 million, up 12 percent from 2006.

Most of that revenue comes from Google.



 

Google, Mozilla extend search box deal

That little Google search box in the upper right part of your Firefox browser will be sticking around through 2011, according to Mozilla.

Mitchell Baker, Chairwoman of the Mozilla Foundation or Chief Lizard Wrangler depending on what you prefer, said in a blog post that Google has extended its financial pact with Mozilla through 2011.

Tom Cruise and his publicity crew are apparently buying up ads on Google AdWords. Hollywood Newsroom first noticed the fact that when you type in "Tom Cruise" in a Google search, paid sponsored ads for the Scientologist's official, soon-to-be-launched Web site appear.
