Same-Sex Couples Continue Marriage Fight

Voters in California narrowly approved Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment restricting marriage to heterosexual couples.

California was one of the few states where gay couples could marry legally. Same sex partners now are turning to the courts, hoping to restore that right.

Austin gay couples go to California to get married

Austin couples are flocking to California now that the Golden State has legalized gay marriage. Tuesday was the first full day county clerks in California opened for same sex marriages.

California's Supreme Court has thrown out state laws banning gay marriage. The move means gay couples could legally get married there as soon as next month.

Opponents of the ruling hope to ban gay marriage through a constitutional amendment.
