Join us to celebrate June 7th -- exactly 20 years ago over 1,000 citizens showed up at City Hall to protest the "Barton Creek PUD" -- how far have we come? What do we need to do to insure Barton Springs is preserved for future generations? We will meet at City Hall in the lobby for a reception and then move into the council chambers for a presentation, showing of video highlights of the 1990 hearing, panel discussions and 3 minute speak outs for Barton Springs.

The project plans to honor the top 36 nominees of Mexican-American heritage in Travis County in a future exhibit at the Austin History Museum.
But the museum's Gloria Espitia says they can't honor people they don't hear about. "We actually started doing the nominations and calling for the nominations back in about mid-July and up to date, we've received very little," said Espitia.
Espitia says the project is an effort to better chronicle Mexican American history in Central Texas.
