Front Steps and Mobile Loaves and Fishes, two nonprofits which serve Austin's homeless population, are scheduled to receive 76,000 bottles of water from Houston's I Am Waters Foundation on Wednesday.

This foundation is dedicated to providing clean drinking water to the homeless, with words of inspiration on the bottle.

How much cash did you save during Free Week (and drink expenses don't count!)?

$5, $10, $20? Here's a thought - take all of that moola and do the right thing by donating it this Thursday.

A benefit show at Mohawk with Bill Callahan and Hidden Ritual plans to give all proceeds to two great local organizations: Front Steps and SafePlace.

This morning, Front Steps staffers gave out hundreds of coats and jackets to ARCH (Austin Resource Center for the Homeless) clients, but there weren’t enough in size large or XL.

That’s where you come in, oh fortunate one: If you have an extra coat you wouldn’t mind parting with, or even a twin-size or larger sleeping bag, Front Steps is asking that you please donate it in the next few days.
