Police have charged Avery Ranch homeowner Fred Yazdi with murder after shooting to death a man that was running from him early Friday morning.

They say 47-year-old Yazdi shot and killed 23-year-old Enrique Recio at 3 a.

Auto Shop Damaged By Fire In Round Rock

A major fire damaged an automotive business off I-35 in Round Rock Friday morning.

The Bishop Automotive Shop near Old Settlers Boulevard caught fire at approximately 7:30 a.m.  No one was inside at the time.

The fire closed the north service road for several hours.

West Austin hit and run suspect in court

A former state capitol aide was back in court Friday morning for a West Austin hit and run fatality pre-trial hearing.

Gabrielle Nestande faces charges for leaving a woman at an accident scene after allegedly hitting the woman with her car.

Courtney Griffin, 30, was found dead in a driveway in May of last year.

Couple Welcomes 16-lb Texan to the World

On Friday morning little baby JaMichael Brown was welcomed to the world -- all 16 pounds of him.

Putting aside the "everything's bigger in Texas" line, hospital officials at the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview have stated JaMichael is the largest baby born in the hospital, and might be the biggest baby born in Texas.

State records are currently being searched to confirm that.



 

With Just 39,000 New Jobs In Nov., Jobless Rate Rises
