Google Labs has killed its virtual world experiment dubbed Lively in a mere five months. What does Google’s move say about virtual worlds?

While the death of Lively puns are unavoidable (Techmeme), I’ve been pondering the virtual world thing for a few days.

This smear has proven two things. 1) Portions of the left are just as mean-spirited and disreputable as any segment of the right and 2) those smear artists are 100% wrong in their facts.



 

Concealed handgun licenses surge among young Texans

Since the beginning of the year, Texas has seen a surge in citizens seeking concealed handgun licenses, with an increase in first-time applicants younger than 26.

The Texas Department of Public Safety recorded a 24 percent increase in applications from citizens in their early 20s during the first five months of 2008, compared with the same period in 2007.
