Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is in Germany, where he defended U.S. efforts to invigorate its economy with an aggressive bond-buying program.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke gave a speech in Germany Friday defending the Fed's recent move to buy $600 billion in Treasury bonds.

The move is called quantitative easing -- the idea is to stimulate growth in an economy that Bernanke says is still at risk.
