The pick is in.
President Obama has chosen federal appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor to replace David Souter on the U.S. Supreme Court.
If confirmed, Sotomayor will be the third woman and the first Hispanic to serve on the nation’s highest court.

President Obama has chosen federal appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor for the opening on the Supreme Court. The announcement is expected to be made official Tuesday.
If confirmed by the Senate, Sotomayor would be the first Hispanic to serve on the nation's highest court.
She would succeed Justice David Souter, who is retiring.
