The Carillon has always been a bit of a contradiction.

It's a big, expensive, formal room - run by a young, cutting-edge chef. It's too highly regarded to be called Austin's best kept secret - yet it's tucked away on the South end of the UT campus, far from most of Austin's best dining options.

And while it's technically a 'hotel restaurant' - the food is anything but.

Perhaps Austin's best-kept fine dining secret, The Carillon is primarily known for both their forward-thinking chef Josh Watkins (formerly of The Driskill Grill) and their New American cuisine, which earned them a four-star review from the Austin American-Statesman.
