‘President Obama Is A Racist’

Donklephant  Wed, 07/29/2009 - 9:07am

Some salient discussion of Glenn Beck’s mystifying comments with the Morning Joe crew, sans Morning Joe himself.

I think that they are all correct in their assessments.

Cheney Behind Illegal C.I.A. Program Concealment

Donklephant  Sat, 07/11/2009 - 4:47pm

Not that it’s a surprise, but are we at the point now where we start talking seriously about prosecutions?

Because it’s apparent that Cheney directed the C.I.A. to break the law by concealing information and if the guy can get away with anything as long as it was done for national security reasons, well, what kind of precedent does that set?

Biden’s Iraq Trip Sparks Hope and Protests

Donklephant  Fri, 07/03/2009 - 9:35am

In a show of good faith, Vice President Joe Biden flew to Baghdad Thursday evening on his unprecedented three-day visit.

Typically, a high-level official – like Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney – only remains in the country for a day or less, so the trip is unusually long.

- Dick Cheney on the hottest topic of the day

Former Vice President Dick Cheney defended the Bush administration's approach to fighting terrorism after the 9-11 attacks.

NPR's Don Gonyea reports.

Obama Hasn’t Deviated Much From Bush National Security Policie...

Donklephant  Tue, 05/19/2009 - 7:01am

So, Dick Cheney has been going around telling everyone that President Obama is making us less safe by daring to change some of the Bush era national security policies.

But Jack Goldsmith at The New Republic says Cheney’s criticisms don’t hold up. Obama has actually changed very little outside rhetoric and packaging.

Reflections on the Texas Book Festival 2006

Austin Public Library Blog  Fri, 11/03/2006 - 11:00am

On Saturday, my husband and I attended the panel discussion on Hurricane Katrina in the House Chamber and got to sit in the big soft chairs on floor of the House.

Douglas Brinkley talked about his book The Great Deluge (get the book, read the book, be the book).
