Protesters Fill Prime Minister's Office In Bangkok

In Bangkok, Thailand, anti-government protesters are still occupying the grounds of the prime minister's office.

For a third straight day, the demonstrators are demanding his resignation. The government has said it will not remove the protesters by force, but it has issued arrest warrants for nine of the group's leaders.

Renee Montagne talks with NPR's Michael Sullivan, who is at the prime minister's compound.

Timothy Verret sat with a chained collar around his neck in front of the Capitol this weekend, accompanied by his three-legged dog.

Verret, the co-founder of Chain Free Austin, a group that lobbied for a city ordinance to ban the chaining of dogs in Austin, joined about a dozen other demonstrators for a nationwide 24-hour protest against animal cruelty associated with the practice of chaining.
