Il Teatro Nostro opened their production of David Mamet's play "Revenge of the Space Pandas" or "Binky Rudich and the Two-Speed Clock" this weekend at United States Art Authority, 512 W. 29th St.
The play, one of Mamet's few plays for children, runs about an hour and is delightful.

Some flowery insight The playwright David Mamet visited Austin this week to unveil his archives at the Harry Ransom Center.
Mamet, one of the most accomplished living playwrights, has a reputation for being hard to deal with. But I was comforted by his brusque, ceaselessly opinionated demeanor, which reminded me of my headstrong Zionist grandfather in Chicago.

Monday, Feb. 4, 6:30 p.m., Hogg Memorial Auditorium. Playwright, writer and film director David Mamet, whose papers are at the Ransom Center, discusses his career and work with Austin Chronicle Arts Editor Robert Faires as part of the 2008 Harry Middleton Lecture Series.
Tickets are required for this event. All tickets for this event have been distributed. There will be a stand-by line starting at 5:30 p.m. at Hogg Auditorium the day of the event to fill unclaimed seats.
However, guests in the stand-by line aren't guaranteed seating.
