Twang Twang reunites for record reissue shows

Although David Garza, Chris Searles and Jeff Haley played together as Twang Twang Shock-a-Boom for only 10 months in 1989-1990, they were incredibly successful- and polarizing.

You either loved Twang Twang or you were already out of college.

The band’s first cassette “Me So Twangy” has been remastered and it’s set to be released on CD and online Tuesday Dec. 8.

To celebrate, the trio will play a free show Dec. 9 at Farmer’s Market at the Triangle from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Davíd Garza is an Austin-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who infuses rock and pop with a Latin feel.

His pop-savvy songwriting and vocal style regularly draws comparisons to Freddie Mercury, Jeff Buckley, Donovan and Robert Plant.

Garza cites other influences as diverse as Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Blondie.

The Pachanga Latino Music Festival, Austin’s only Latin-themed music, cultural arts and food festival is being held at Fiesta Gardens in Austin on Saturday, May 30th.

The one-day festival will once again close out Austin’s Latino Music Month and showcase a vibrant blend of Latino-created music and art.
