Hezbollah leader could get military tribunal in US (AP)

AP - The Obama administration is considering a military trial in the United States for a Hezbollah commander now detained in Iraq, U.S. counterterrorism officials said, previewing a potential prosecution strategy that has failed before but may offer a solution to a difficult legal problem for the government.

AP - Some of the first information gleaned from Osama bin Laden's compound indicates al-Qaida considered attacking U.S. trains on the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, but counterterrorism officials say they believe the plot was only aspirational and have no recent intelligence about any active plan for such an attack.

U.S. Won't Seek Death Penalty For Ghailani

Counterterrorism officials took a careful look at Ahmed Ghailani's case and decided not to seek the death penalty. Ghailani, the first Guantanamo detainee to be brought to a U.S. civilian court for trial, is charged in the 1998 bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa.
