German Politician Steals Toilet Paper From City Hall

Janitors caught German politician Frank-Michael John stealing toilet paper from a city bathroom. The regional councilman was found out after a sting operation.

Janitors say they suspected a thief after more than 200 rolls vanished.

Councilman “Running” For Council

We got Allen Demling’s press release announcing that he was running for council but thought it was a joke.

We don’t do follow up calls because news comes to us. But The Man ran with it, so it must be real.

We don’t send crews out in vans to get live shots of the weather either, but we know its cold outside.

As the local newspaper editorializes against what it calls the “secretive search” for a replacement for soon-to-retire Austin City Manager Toby Futrell, new details are leaking out about how the choice came down to the current candidates — which don’t include longtime Futrell deputy Laura Huffman.



 

And Then There Were Two

The number of candidates to replace departing Austin City Manager Toby Futrell was reduced to two today — Jelynne Burley of San Antonio and Marc Ott of Fort Worth.

Both finalists who were passed over for the top jobs in their current cities.

Out of the running is Futrell deputy Laura Huffman, because of despite the strong support she enjoyed from Councilman Brewster McCracken.

Also eliminated from consideration was Rudy Garza, another assistant under Futrell.
