Big Banks Give $5.33 Billion In Bonuses

And this is for 2008…a year when their failure nearly brought the entire world’s financial system to its knees.

I don’t care if these bonuses were contractual or not.

New circumstances (you know…like BANKRUPTCY!) could allow them to renegotiate with their employees.

Dow Jones Industrial Average Drops GM, Citigroup

The stock market's best-known barometer is adding Cisco Systems Inc. and Travelers Cos. and dropping General Motors Corp. and Citigroup Inc.

The changes were announced Monday as GM entered bankruptcy protection. The government has, through bailout money, become a major Citigroup shareholder and reduced its role as a publicly held company.
