Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival Announced For April 25th - 28th Austin is finally hosting its first all-comedy festival with the just-announced Moontower.

Taking place on April 25th, the event has 24 featured comedians announced so far, including headliners Seth Meyers, Aziz Ansari and Steven Wright.

New inductees to the Austin Arts Hall of Fame

The Austin Critics’ Table has inducted four cultural leaders to the Austin Arts Hall of Fame.

The informal organization of arts critics this year will honor attorney Jo Anne Christian, a founding board member of the Austin Lyric Opera and a leader of the effort to build the Long Center; Maria Salinas, founder of Aztlan Dance Company; pianist James Dick who founded the Round Top Festival Institute; and photographer Alan Pogue.

Austin Critics' Table Awards nominations announced

Austin Shakespeare’s production of “An Ideal Husband,” Dan Welcher’s Symphony No. 5 and the Blanton Museum of Art exhibit “Birth of the Cool” are just some of many arts events in the past year that have been nominated for an award by the Austin Critics’ Table.

Other nominees announced today include Austin Lyric Opera’s production of ‘The Bat,’ pianist Anton Nel’s solo concert at the Long Center and costume designer Michaele Hite for the UT Butler School of Music production of Duke Ellington’s “Queenie Pie.”



 

Tonight at Cap City: Eddie Gossling w/ Jimmie Roulette

Comedian Eddie Gossling comes into town pretty frequently to do shows at Cap City Comedy Club.

Not a surprise considering he has a good following here, typically playing to large crowds at the club and somehow getting up early enough to sit in on the morning show with Dudley and Bob on KLBJ 93.7.
