Our friends at Texas Weekly confirm whispers around the Capitol for the past few weeks now: that Democratic Dawnna Dukes is as big a spendthrift as the Republicans she supports.
Since 2000, the East Austin state rep has spent $80,000 using 19 different credit cards for purchases she failed to describe on her on campaign finance reports, as required by state law.
In all, she spent nearly $300,000 of her campaign contributors’ money, mostly lobbyists, during the same period of time.
