KUT hosts musicians' health forum

Monday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m., Cactus Cafe. KUT-FM announces a forum on musicians' health care to launch "Get Involved: Forums," a new series promoting civic discourse on key issues in Austin.

Seating is limited; RSVP to http://musichealth.eventbrite.com/. The forum will consist of a panel of community leaders from local non-profits HAAM (the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) and SIMS Foundation, along with local musicians and health-care professionals.

Friday, July 16, 5 p.m., Cactus Cafe. The celebration of ideas continues as Science in the Pub reaches a fever pitch this summer.

The event brings fascinating presentations on science and technology to the casual environment of UT's Cactus Cafe.

Attendees are invited to buy a beverage, grab a seat and dive into the world of science with unprecedented access to the scientists.

Presenters are encouraged to break out of their mundane slide-by-slide shoptalk and deliver their most passionate ideas to the audience.
