Event: Rebecca Henderson, oboe, and Sandy Yamamoto, violin, will join The University of Texas at Austin Symphony Orchestra (UTSO) in the ensemble’s first performance of the semester.
Henderson and Yamamoto, world-renowned musicians and beloved faculty members at the Butler School, will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C minor.

Monday, Feb. 21, 7:30 p.m., Butler School of Music, Bates Recital Hall. Distinguished violinist William Preucil, concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra, performs works by Bach, Mendelssohn, Strauss and others.
Preucil will be accompanied by Arthur Rowe, piano.

Tuesday, March 30, 7:30 p.m., Bates Recital Hall (MRH 3.838). The New Music Ensemble will perform a variety of works by visiting composer William Bolcom.
During the evening, Bolcom will be presented with the Eddie Medora King Award, a $25,000 award presented bi-annually by the Butler School of Music to a composer for outstanding contributions to the world of new music.
