Tinkering isn't good enough

City Council continues to be remarkably tone deaf on the issue of tax breaks for historic landmarks.  Council wants to tinker with the structure of the tax breaks.  But what people are mad about is Council's bad judgment in handing out tax breaks, not necessarily the structure.  The average Austinite does not believe that preserving

Grab a blanket, a (glass free) cooler, and some friends because tonight is the first Blues on the Green of the summer, and I can’t be more excited!

Running from 6/6 to 8/17, KGSR’s biweekly free concert held at Zilker Park kicks off tonight with Austinite and fan favorite, Bob Schneider.

As always, the event is dog friendly (w/leashes) and word is KGSR has also added six new food venders to concert area as well.

The show starts at 7:30 PM.

Austinite and 'Wedding Wars' Contestant Arrested, Charged With Child Abuse Former Marine Yolanda Brown took a break from filming Wedding Wars to beat her 9 year old son with an extension cord.

Apparently the stress of being a laughable television 'personality' was too much for her to bear, and she seems to be laying the groundwork for a Law & Order-worthy excuse: exhaustion.

Austin's East Side Starts Mourning for Rabbit's Lounge The legendary Rabbit's Lounge at 6th & Chicon on the east side is closing.

The come-as-you-are beer joint has been serving the east side community since 1969, and owner Rabbit (now 78 years old) has decided to lease the space to someone else while pursuing retirement, travel and some much-deserved rest.
