Since 1995, The SIMS Foundation has worked to provide mental health and addiction recovery services to Austin's working musician community.

Monday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m., Cactus Cafe. KUT-FM announces a forum on musicians' health care to launch "Get Involved: Forums," a new series promoting civic discourse on key issues in Austin.

Seating is limited; RSVP to http://musichealth.eventbrite.com/. The forum will consist of a panel of community leaders from local non-profits HAAM (the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) and SIMS Foundation, along with local musicians and health-care professionals.

The Health Alliance For Austin Musicians is raising money today in excellent fashion, with shows all over town starting early morning and stretching until the wee hours. The whole schedule is here.
