Thumping bass, melodic synths and flashing lights exploding in all directions. Welcome to Deadmau5’s musical carnival.

Joel Zimmerman, better known as Deadmau5, will be performing at the Austin Music Hall this Wednesday.

Accompanying the innovative and talented maestro of booty-shaking dance music will be artists Excision, Tommy Lee, DJ Aero and Crizzly.

They’re here!  This year’s ACL Festival 2011 After Shows have been announced.  And they look BAD ASS.  From NAS to Bright Eyes, looks like a lot of artists and bands want to blow off some steam from the festival and venture downtown to our venues and put on some shows of their own!  Among others, looks like some of the best places to be when you’re not ACLing will be  Stubb’sEmo’s

mtvU Woodie Awards should bring big names to SXSW

The 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards will be held at the Austin Music Hall on Wednesday March 16 and some of the names of probable performers is impressive.

The Black Keys, LCD Soundsystem, Matt & Kim, B.o.B., Eliza Doolittle and Local Natives are all rumored to attend and, perhaps, perform a song.

The show will air live beginning at 11 p.m. on mtvU.com.

This is the first year the awards will be held in Austin.

Past shows have aired live from New York City.
