Ticketing isn't much better than just yelling

Heading out to Houston for the weekend. Yes, I'm gonna ride a real light rail train.

Getting to the ACM on transit

M1EK  Wed, 09/17/2008 - 8:40am

Here's some examples to back up the previous post about the ACM.

I'm picking major intersections near some neighborhoods in the news the last couple of years. I am granting the Mueller Town Center a stop at Aldrich and Airport - which isn't really IN the Town Center, but as close as you can get today (and, I believe, the closest you'll get in the future except perhaps on the streetcar).

Using times of 11:00 AM arrivals on a weekday.

Props to Council

City Council continues to show that it is serious about opening the core transit corridors to Vertical Mixed Use development by standing up to neighborhoods trying to wriggle out of the VMU bargain.

Council's Split Decision: Good for Homeless Pets, Bad for Democracy

fixaustin.org  Wed, 10/17/2007 - 9:56pm

On Thursday, October 11th, the citizens of Austin were out in full force attempting to convince our City Council to do the right thing--- to rebuild our animal shelter on the shores of Town Lake (now Lady Bird Lake).  Regrettably, the Council made the wrong decision; they decided, by a 6-1 vote, to relocate Austin's animal shelter to a difficult-to-find, out-of-sight, out-of-mind site near the intersection of Airport Boulevard and East 7th Street.

But not all was lost!&am...
