Late January is a fun time in the world of sports.

We are on day five of the fourteen day hype carnival that culminates with the Super Bowl. The NBA has reached its halfway point (lollygagging players really turn it on now).

The Australian Open men’s and women’s finals are this weekend. College basketball has begun conference play.

Add to all this action the circus that is the Major League Baseball steroids scandal, and we’re in the midst...
