[nndl] Northfield NA meeting THIS MONDAY

Happy New Year Northfield,

Like most of you I have been busy with holidays and have had family in
town so our planned January meeting crept up on me.

My apologies for not sending a reminder earlier.

The meeting is THIS MONDAY, Dayspring Chapel, (53rd and G).

On the Agenda:
We will have a visitor who will inform us of an upcoming waterworks
project that will effect the neighborhood.

We will also discuss a variance request to allow alcohol sales at 100
E North Loop

[nndl] Link Variance update

Hi All,

This is an update regarding the variance request for 5509 Link.

I attended the BOA meeting on Monday to oppose the requested variance.
The request is for a garage that was illegally converted to a 680s/ft
2-bedroom apartment.
The apartments current footprint is approximately 7 feet from from the
main house (15 is required).

[nndl] Special Meeting Tonight @ 6pm

Hi All,

This is a reminder that the NA will hold a special meeting at 6pm

We will be meeting in my studio at 100 W 55th St. The studio is
upstairs behind the main house.
Please enter from the gate on 55th Street and come up the stairs.

We will hear from David Cancialosi of DC Development Consulting who is
representing the property.

Re: [nndl] RE: [NNADL] Howard and Parker Properties

Dear neighbors,

I really dread treading in these waters, but I would like to posit the
following:

There are some people in this world who are trusting (not naive), but truly
trusting, so that when they are told "we will not fight the neighborhood, we
will no longer be interested if the neighborhood does not support the variance"
- well, some people actually take the word of the person(s).

Sure, we have all been fooled at some times in our lives, but many of us still

Re: [nndl] RE: [NNADL] Howard and Parker Properties

In fairness Sebastian you have been about as neutral as I have on
this issue.

And "its over" is something that you said on October 4 and many times
since.

Now, two months and three postponements and later, I hope, that as of
today, it truly is.

It is strange to me is that you have never said publicly that you
were wrong (or could be wrong) about
the project being over, and about Endeavor's intentions.

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] Howard and Parker Properties

Thanks for this Sebastian.

I have to object on a few points though.

You say "There is, and always has been, a letter from me to the BOA..."

I have made periodic trips to check on the status of the case folder
at the BOA.
Your letter was dated and received Dec. 3 (last Monday) - 2 months
after the neighborhood vote.

But thank you for sending it. Although I know you personally very
much want this project, the wording is

[nndl] RE: [NNADL] Endeavor is not interested in pursuing this developmentwithout neighborhood support

Thank you Sebastian! This is very recent 12/11.
I am glad to read that Endeavor is terminating the variance request.

I am now looking forward to see what other things will come to the
neighborhood. Thank you for all the work you have been doing for the group.
