traffic study

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] strip centers

A strip center would almost surely not have a primary entrance at the
south end.

That is the main issue that I and most of the people opposed to it have.

The south entrance/exit brings a lot of traffic through the hood.
Especially since this is
residential. People learn the paths and shortcuts and ways to avoid
the lights.

I posted a breakdown of some key aspects of the prelim traffic study
Endeavor presented on this political site:

That Chronicle link did not work for me. I did however search on 'Sebastian
Wren' and came up with the following:

Yep, its these guys (whoever they are) that are distorting the truth.

Come on, neighbors!

We NEED these 259 apartment units (plus the commercial apartments)
that empty onto quiet residential streets without sidewalks.

The 175 units that are now allowed by code is simply not enough.

Let's rally behind these honest, forthright guys that are NOT
building student housing (though they cannot prevent students from
living there)

[nndl] Traffic Impact Data

I tried to send some traffic information from Jamil to the three mailing
lists this morning, but NLNPT and NNDL rejected the message (probably
because of the size of the attachments).

They did go out to NNADL, no worries.

Here is Jamil's executive summary of the data (without attachments)

>From Jamil:

As previously discussed, I have attached for your review 3 files to
share with the neighbors that address traffic concerns. Because we have

[nndl] What IS wanted at Howard property?

Do you have a sense that the geographic situation for NNA at Howard and the surrounding area has unique aspects not yet reconciled w/ TXDot and traffic study reports?  There may be whole new ways of looking at this once site specific data is available.

Re: [NNADL] [nndl] Basic Question about Howard's

Hey,

I asked a friend of mine who does Traffic Impact Analyses for a living what she thought about Endeavor's plan, and she went overboard and developed a whole spreadsheet for me.  I won't share the spreadsheet or her name because her company wouldn't approve of it, but I will share some of the findings.  I'm a transportation engineer too, so I can say that what she did makes sense (though I don't do TIAs).
