[nndl] Tent Revival Report

Gosh, I don't even have to be up there to hear the preaching.

I've got it coming through loud and clear into my living room.

Wow.

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] [Fwd: Tent Revival on Open Lot in Northloop]

For sure - no worry about that - yet. It's just very strange.

I wasn't worried about traffic congestion on Lamar. I was concerned
that since there is no place for attendees to park, that folks would
park on the streets in front of our houses - the streets on Zennia,
Huisache and Genard are already parked up solid. There are at least 8
people, each with cars - in the Monster - that fairly well takes up most
of Huisache.

Just wanted to let you all know that so far not one person has showed up
for the revival.

[nndl] PS on the Tent Revival

Folks -

My concern about the tent revival has nothing to do with peoples' right
to gather, free speech, etc. In other words - the nature of the
gathering is irrelevant.

My concern is the precedent that may be set in this "renting" out the
lot for public gatherings. The next group may want to feature their
new band for a weekend - what a great place to do that - right on Lamar,
tons of traffic and people.

Re: [nndl] Curious and concerning - Tent Revival at 5117 N. Lamar

After almost 20 calls today I finally found someone who could tell me
that the tent revival (5117 N. Lamar) does indeed have a permit. FYI:
it's the temporary use permit department (part of the COA building
permit department).

Yes, the tent revival does have a permit. Yes, the real estate broker
who is selling the lot gave permission for the tent revival to be held
on that lot. This is a 6 day event. It begins tomorrow and ends on
Sunday.

[nndl] Curious and concerning - Tent Revival at 5117 N. Lamar

Heads up folks - there is going to be a tent revival starting tomorrow
Tuesday and ends next Sunday - at 5117 North Lamar.

Where the people are going to park, I don't know.

Plus, portable toilets were delivered to the lot this morning - close
the the fence owned by the lady who lives right next door.

Angus, do you suppose your contact in Code Enforcement could inquire
about how someone got an event permit for an event that will clearly
clog of traffic on an already he
