I just spoke with someone at Cothron's Safe and Lock. To prevent door kick-ins, he did recommend a heavy-duty strike plate but hadn't heard of the Kick Guard brand. He recommended the MAG brand (MAG High Security Box Strike), which you can buy at Cothron's or online from MAG's webiste:
