Hi Neighbors,
A few weeks ago, I wrote to ask you to "save the date," October 17th, for FixAustin.org's "Road to No Kill Austin" public-policy forum at Austin City Hall featuring national no-kill sheltering expert Nathan Winograd.  The event is now official, and while admission is free, registration is required.

Some of you may not know that Austin's pound currently kills more than 13,000 dogs and cats each year as it has for decades.  Several years ago, Sarah and I founded an animal-advocacy charity, FixAustin.org, with the goal of reducing Austin's shelter killing through the use of cost-effective, proven programs that have effectively and dramatically reduced shelter killing in other communities across the country.
