[nndl] How do we count....

Dear Community Members

Can you help turn out 5% + of your neighborhood's vote and/or workplace vote?  Can you take/get two other persons to vote at Travis County -Airport to vote by Monday?

[nndl] Green Space Funding/Austin Parks Foundation

Since the $14,000 in City funds are already earmarked for Bruning Green and a great deal of planning has gone into those improvements, I thought it might be helpful to offer alternative suggestions for funding the new green space and children's playground at 55 1/2th St.

[nndl] Some Peace and Quiet

After much thought, I too have decided to leave both list servs (nndl
and nnadl). It's become pretty clear that nothing much of any
significance or understanding is ever posted on them and what little
information or sanity does make it through is quickly overwhelmed by
voices far too eager to hit the 'reply all' button and disseminate their
bullying, insults, ignorance, and lies. Like Cindy, I can stay informed

Re: [nndl] possible scam

A guy came by our house last night with the same story. This is a
common panhandler's scenario, I've had them approach me on the street
around campus and downtown. They seem to be relatively harmless. I
think 311 was a good call.

[nndl] possible scam

My Neighbor, Scott, asked me to post the following report of an
unusual incident last night.

A lady about 50 yrs. old claiming to be deaf came to my door at 7:20pm
this evening. She was wearing a red ski hat, bright colored sweatshirt
and jeans.
She wrote out a note saying her car ran out of gas, that she had called
her roommate but she wasn't home and could I give her money for gas.
I asked her where her car was & she gestured it was far away.

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] more signs?--brainstorming

Dear Laura,

My email about reminding ourselves about our NNA procedures was simply that:
reminding ourselves. And I hope you will forgive me for being so terse and
stodgy. I am at once careful but eager for new ideas and interest in the NNA.

We can entertain your very excellent ideas as well as those of other members.
My point was only that we need to be mindful of the rules currently in place.

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] more signs?--brainstorming

Jan,

Thanks for reminding us all that that the NNA did vote to designate use of NNA
funds for the Watch Signs. To use the funds otherwise would require us to
vote at another meeting.

Mary
